Sewing Studio is a local Portland online fabric shop that carries high quality apparel fabric.
The original Sewing Studio was started many years ago by LouAnn Sohn as a brick and mortar, and later adding an online shop. LouAnn succumbed to breast cancer in 2013. Her husband and daughters tried to keep things moving for a time, but things got to be too much. In late summer of 2017, the entire asset was transferred to Karleen Huggins. After a few months of setting up a new website, and getting her arms around the fabrics, the website went live on October 1st, 2017.
It has been a whirlwind since then – finding new vendors, reestablishing relationships with prior vendors, a trip to LA Textile show, and meeting with a couple of other shop owners. Things are flying!
