Frocktails is a social event with people that get it. Whether you’re a pro making tech packs, designing patterns, making made-to-measure, altering bridal, selling fabric or teaching sewing, or you’ve just sewn your first garment and you need someone to show it to because your puppy just isn’t giving you feedback…we get together and talk sewing, fabric, patterns, and just really revel being in a room with other folks that play bobbin chicken!
Our Portland events get folks from all over the PNW, pros & hobbyists alike, and we find our sewing BFFs. Sometimes we do casual happy hours, sometimes we do park parties, sometimes backyard fabric swaps, and sometimes a schmancy ticketed event.
Frocktails originated in Brisbane Australia by the Brisbane Spoolettes, a group of sewists that would meet up and sewcialize. Then came Melbourne, San Fransisco, NYC, and Portland. The following year, it exploded around the world because it is a brilliant idea and an even better time.
